Fanofom Fun Club Unites Women in Ekumfi to Drive Local Development

Fanofom Fun Club, a women empowerment group in Ekumfi, has over the weekend met with their top hierarchy to fraternise, mobilise members, embark on a membership drive, and plan activities for 2025.

Over 170 executives from 24 communities in the Ekumfi Constituency were engaged by their founder and patrons. Dr. Mrs. Eunice Nana Aba Smart Kwainoe, the founder of the club, underscored the need to empower women in Ekumfi with entrepreneurial skills to alleviate poverty. This move, she believes, will boost the local economy, create employable avenues for women; both young and old, and serve as a means to sustain their families and support their husbands.

She called on all interested and prospective members to willingly join, emphasising that the club transcends political boundaries. “This is a non-partisan group,” she added.

Reiterating the club’s mandate, Mrs. Kwainoe emphasised the club’s preparedness to provide all necessary items and equipment for training. She also cautioned members to be alert to certain miscreants who may attempt to use the organisation to solicit money from members, urging them to report any such actions to her or the patrons for appropriate sanctions.

“Working for Growth,” as their tagline suggests, Fanofom Fun Club seeks to empower women in Ekumfi from the grassroots, equipping them to unearth and shape their potential and passions. Ëdwumadzen wie nkunyimdzi,”to wit, hardwork breeds success.

I am Prepared for any Opportunity that Comes My Way - MP-Elect for Ekumfi Constituency

Dr. Ekow Kwainoe

As Ghana awaits the inauguration of Members of Parliament and the President-Elect, the MP-Elect for Ekumfi Constituency, Hon. Dr. Othniel Ekow Kwainoe, has expressed his readiness to serve in any capacity within the incoming administration. With a strong background in finance and agriculture, he believes his expertise could be instrumental in driving national development.

In an interview with Akwasi Nsiah on Adom TV on Thursday, January 2, 2025, Dr. Kwainoe noted that his experience in the finance and banking sector, coupled with his current achievements in farming positions him for significant roles. The MP-Elect emphasized his preparedness to contribute meaningfully, stating, “So given the opportunity, I would not miss it; I will do my very best.”

Dr. Kwainoe’s farming accomplishments include winning the 2021 District Best Farmer and the 2022 Central Regional Best Pineapple Farmer awards. He currently cultivates a 60-acre pineapple plantation and is involved in coconut and palm plantations. Additionally, he plans to establish a 2,000-capacity poultry farm in 2025.

One of his key aspirations is to revitalize the Ekumfi Fruits and Juices Factory and establish a Salt Refinery. These initiatives, he believes, will dovetail into John Dramani Mahama’s vision of a 24-hour economy, boosting local economic growth and creating direct and indirect employment opportunities.

The MP-Elect also highlighted agriculture’s pivotal role in stabilizing the economy. He proposed interventions such as providing subsidized or free fertilizers, introducing modern farming equipment and scaling up production to meet both local and international demands. Such measures, he argues would generate foreign exchange, stabilize the Cedi and reduce inflation.

Dr. Kwainoe credited his God-fearing nature, patience, hardwork and consistency as the driving forces behind his achievements. He noted that, his family background serves as a source of encouragement to leave a lasting legacy of dedication and service.

The recent calls by the Chiefs of Ekumfi on President-Elect for competent individuals to be considered for appointments underscores Dr. Kwainoe’s suitability for leadership roles. With his multifaceted expertise and passion for development, he remains optimistic about his ability to support his constituents and contribute immensely to national development.
