I Have Won Clearly and I Will Fulfill the Promise I Made – Ekumfi MP-Elect

The Member of Parliament (MP) – Elect for Ekumfi Constituency in the Central Region, Hon. Dr. Othniel Ekow Kwainoe, has reaffirmed his commitment to delivering on his campaign promises following his decisive win in the December 7, 2024, elections.

Speaking to journalists after the Electoral Commission’s official declaration, Dr. Kwainoe expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support he received, stating, “the people of Ekumfi have spoken, and I have won clearly.” He assured his constituents of his dedication to addressing their needs and urged them to unite for peace and progress in the constituency.

Dr. Kwainoe attributed his success to hardwork hence the trust placed in him by the electorate. He emphasized the importance of collaboration stating that, his victory represents a mandate to serve the nation. He further appealed to candidates who were not successful in the elections to learn from the experience and prepare for future opportunities. 

Acknowledging the developmental challenges in Ekumfi despite efforts by past MPs, Dr. Kwainoe expressed optimism about working closely with President-Elect John Dramani Mahama which could bring the much-needed progress to the constituency.

The MP-Elect called on all stakeholders to remain calm and supportive, emphasizing unity as a key factor to achieve the constituency’s development goals.

The Member of Parliament (MP)-Elect for the Ekumfi Constituency, Hon. Dr. Othniel Ekow Kwainoe, has expressed heartfelt gratitude to his constituents for granting him a resounding victory in the just-ended election.

Speaking on Coastal FM 94.9 MHz, a radio station in Mankessim on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, Dr. Kwainoe thanked everyone in the constituency for their overwhelming support, emphasizing the need for unity and collective effort to build an Ekumfi that benefits all residents.

In a display of political tolerance and maturity, Dr. Kwainoe congratulated his contender, Hon. Stelfa Nana Adu Okumkom Donkor, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for their good fight in the election. He encouraged his opponent to return stronger and better, emphasizing that, “there is time for everyone.”

Addressing his plans for the constituency, Ekow Kwainoe assured his constituents of transparency and accountability. He cautioned officials in the Ekumfi District Assembly and other stakeholders who may have diverted or misused public funds to put right their actions immediately, otherwise face scrutiny and accountability measures. He further reiterated his vision to get the constituency on track spanning from Education, Health, Agriculture, Sports to Road Infrastructure. 

Dr. Kwainoe’s victory is seen as a strong endorsement of his dedication and vision to transform the Ekumfi Constituency and positively impact lives of its people.

Mahama Commends Bawumia for a Show of Statesmanship in Early Concession of Election 2024

Shortly after being officially declared winner (Presidential-Elect) in the December 7, 2024, elections by the Returning Officer of the Presidential Elections, Mrs. Jean Adukwei Mensa, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama has applauded His Excellency Dr. Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia, the Vice President and Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), for conceding defeat early, even before the Electoral Commission’s final declaration.

President Mahama described Dr. Bawumia’s gesture as a commendable show of statesmanship, which helped to calm any potential tensions before the official declaration of the results.

Making his first official speech as the President-Elect, Mr. Mahama expressed his gratitude to Ghanaians for entrusting him with the opportunity to complete his second term. He is set to be sworn-in on January 7, 2025.

Mr. John Mahama also urged members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and all supporters to celebrate their victory in a moderate and respectful manner. “Let us now rally together to build the Ghana we all want,” he emphasized, encouraging collective efforts in nation building.

His Excellency John Dramani Mahama’s resounding victory is seen as a testament to the trust Ghanaians have in his leadership. Among thirteen candidates on the Presidential ballot, Mr. Mahama garnered an overwhelming 6 million plus votes, respresenting 56.55% of the total valid votes cast.
